Aiming, though often failing 'to become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some'. Join with me in these reflections, discussions, videos and even humour about how we might become truly authentic in mission:Contextual yet Biblical:Passionate, but also Compassionate:In Word, as well as in Deed. The Spirit of Jesus within is calling each of his followers to reach out and fulfil the Missio Dei in a world of pain and need.
Many Christians including evangelists often have little idea of what happened to the Church after the Acts of the Apostles. The joke is that many evangelicals believe the church started in Acts 2 and ended in chapter 28, nothing then happened until the Reformation in the 16th century with Martin Luther, again nothing happened until Billy Graham came on the scene in the 20th century! But the truth is that God has always been working through His Holy Spirit and has never left himself without a witness. If you know little Church history I would encourage you to perhaps get a one-volume book on the subject in order to give you a good overview. Youtube has some great videos on Church history which will certainly inspire you to carry on serving God, by seeing that you are truly surrounded by such a 'great cloud of witnesses' - the hero's of the faith : 'Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions......... roamed about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.'
Thanks also to my good friend Paul McCann who recommended the lecturer on this present video. Be blessed.
